How would you make PEI a great place for young people to work, grow and thrive?
YPEI is a series of province-wide initiatives lead by the Department of Workforce and Advanced Learning to ensure that young Islanders are given the opportunity to be engaged and involved in the decisions affecting them. The Department of Workforce and Advanced Learning recognizes that making PEI a great place for young people to work, grow, and thrive is a collaborative effort, one of which stems from listening and engaging with young Islanders to ensure their ideas and opinions are being heard.
Two ongoing initiatives revolving around youth engagement include the Youth Futures Council and YDAY. The Youth Futures Council is a province-wide youth advisory body created to help focus policy and programs in a manner that best serves the interests of young Islanders. YDAY will be an ongoing initiative aimed at providing the “youth lens” to the work of the Council for the upcoming year. YDAY will prove to be a unique event aimed at bringing together all walks of young, talented people wanting to influence decision makers and contribute to the future vision of Prince Edward Island.
